"But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew." — Luke 22:60 (ASV)

The third speaker then makes a definite assertion about Peter’s association with Jesus. Luke does not record Peter’s oath as Matthew and Mark do, but he does record Peter’s claim to ignorance about Jesus. At about this time, just as Jesus had predicted, the rooster crowed.
