"and they rose up, and cast him forth out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might throw him down headlong." — Luke 4:29 (ASV)
Nazareth lay among the ridges of the southern slopes of the Galilean hills. Jesus allowed the crowds to drive him out of the town (as he later did on going to the place of crucifixion). But it was not yet his time to die, and by some unexplained means he made his way out.
