Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary Mark 10:16

"And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them." — Mark 10:16 (ASV)

Jesus took the small children in his arms (cf. 9:36) and blessed them—a striking act showing his love for them. Apparently they were fairly small children. This was the overflowing of Jesus’ divine love for children. It was this experience that the disciples in their insensitivity were preventing the children from having and Jesus from giving. No wonder Jesus was indignant!
