"Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God." — Mark 10:27 (ASV)

Jesus then pointed to the solution. His answer makes clear that salvation is totally the work of God. Apart from the grace of God, it is impossible for anyone to enter God’s kingdom. Humanly speaking no one can be saved by his or her own efforts; but what we can never do for ourselves, God does for us. In this story the concepts of “eternal life,” “salvation,” and “entrance into the kingdom” are all used synonymously.
