"And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God." — Mark 11:22 (ASV)

The sayings found in vv.22–25 occur elsewhere in the Synoptic Gospels in various contexts (Matthew 6:13–14; Matthew 7:7; Matthew 17:20; Matthew 18:19; Matthew 17:6). Jesus used the incident of the fig tree to teach incidentally some lessons on faith and prayer. The source of the power for performing the miracle was God. He must be the object of our faith.
