Mark 15:27

SCRIPTURE

"And with him they crucify two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left." — Mark 15:27 (ASV)

The two criminals, probably insurrectionists (see comment on Mt 27:16), were crucified on either side of Jesus (cf. 15:7). They had probably been involved with Barabbas and had been sentenced at the same time as Jesus. His placement between the two criminals was probably to mock him as the insurrectionist par excellence.
