Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary Mark 2:13

"And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them." — Mark 2:13 (ASV)

This second conflict with the religious leaders is introduced by the story of the calling of Levi, the tax collector. The scene is the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Jesus’ popularity with the crowds was still very evident.
