"And the Pharisees went out, and straightway with the Herodians took counsel against him, how they might destroy him." — Mark 3:6 (ASV)
The healing resulted in further enmity against Jesus. The Pharisees, joined now by the Herodians (probably influential Jews who were friends and backers of the Herodian family), began to plot Jesus’ death. The Herodians joined in opposition to Jesus because they feared he might be an unsettling political influence in Palestine.
