Mark 4:39

SCRIPTURE

"And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm." — Mark 4:39 (ASV)

Jesus rebuked the wind and spoke to the waves, and a great calm came. The sovereign Lord spoke and his creation immediately responded. Jesus then rebuked his disciples for their lack of faith. He had expected them by this time to have demonstrated more mature faith in God’s saving power, the power that they had seen present and active in the person of Jesus (8:17–18, 21, 32–33; 9:19 for other rebukes of the disciples).
