"So shall it be in the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the righteous," — Matthew 13:49 (ASV)

Jesus interprets the previous parable. Both the parable and its interpretation point to the Last Judgment (cf. vv.41–42). The focus here is on the state of the kingdom when the Judgment occurs. Though it includes both the righteous and the wicked, a thorough sorting out will certainly take place.
