Matthew 16:13

SCRIPTURE

"Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that the Son of man is?" — Matthew 16:13 (ASV)

Caesarea Philippi was built by Herod Philip the tetrarch (cf. 2:20, 22), who enlarged a small town at the base of Mount Hermon. At that place, Jesus asks the disciples who he, the Son of Man (see comment on Mk 8:31), is.
