SCRIPTURE
"And when the multitudes heard it, they were astonished at his teaching." — Matthew 22:33 (ASV)
Matthew does not tell us that the Sadducees are convinced but that the crowds are astonished at Jesus’ authority and incisive insight into biblical truth (cf. 7:28–29; 13:54; 22:22).
