"And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book." — Revelation 22:7 (ASV)

This first declaration of the imminent coming of Jesus is Jesus’ own response to the yearnings of the church (cf. comments on 1:7; 2:25; 3:11). This is the sixth beatitude in Revelation; and, like the first one (1:3), it is directed toward those who “keep” (i.e., “obey”; GK 5498) the words of the prophecy (cf. vv.18–19).
