John Calvin Commentary 1 Peter 5:11

"To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen." — 1 Peter 5:11 (ASV)

To him be glory. That he might add more confidence to the godly, he breaks out into thanksgiving. Though this may be read in the indicative as well as in the optative mood, the meaning is still nearly the same.
