"And Peter went down to the men, and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?" — Acts 10:21 (ASV)

Behold, I am he whom ye seek. (Acts 10:21). Luke declares now how ready Peter was to obey; secondly, that he finally understood, through the messengers, for what purpose the vision was shown to him. For he hears that he is called by Cornelius, a Gentile man, whom he would have considered profane and unworthy of his company, unless his judgment had been corrected with this voice, That which God calleth pure, judge not thou to be common. (Acts 10:15).

This is true wisdom, when, abandoning all vain confidence and correcting our stubbornness, the authority of God so pulls us to itself, and so possesses our minds, that we consider nothing right except what it prescribes.
