John Calvin Commentary Acts 10:8

"and having rehearsed all things unto them, he sent them to Joppa." — Acts 10:8 (ASV)

Since Cornelius explains the whole matter to the soldier and his servants, this serves to further encourage them to heed the commandment, which they see is a commandment of God rather than of man; and he is not afraid to make known such an important matter to them, whom he had instructed well beforehand.
