"And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother`s womb, who never had walked." — Acts 14:8 (ASV)
A certain man at Lystra. Luke recounts one miracle, which we may think was one of many; but mention was made of it alone because of the famous event. For we shall soon see what happened. Luke details the circumstances, which more plainly set forth the power of God, when he says that the man had never walked, that he was a cripple even from his mother’s womb, that he was suddenly healed by the voice of Paul alone before the eyes of all the people, and that his legs, which were dead, were made nimble, so that he leaped up without hesitation.
