John Calvin Commentary

John Calvin Commentary
"Yea and all the prophets from Samuel and them that followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days." — Acts 3:24 (ASV)
And all When he says that all the prophets with one accord send their disciples to Christ, this more plainly shows (as I have said) that the commendation of the gospel is contained in that testimony of Moses, and so, consequently, that the culmination of prophecies is chiefly noted.
Again, this contributes greatly to the certainty of the gospel, that all the prophets, throughout many ages, nevertheless so shape their teaching with one accord that they all testify that people ought to hope for something certain, better, and more perfect.
Therefore, whoever believes Moses and the prophets must necessarily submit himself to the doctrine of Christ, without which everything they taught is lame and imperfect, (John 5:47).
