John Calvin Commentary

John Calvin Commentary
"And it became known throughout all Joppa: and many believed on the Lord." — Acts 9:42 (ASV)
And many believed. Now manifold fruits of the miracle appear, for God comforted the poor, a godly matron (whose death had been a great loss to the Church) was restored to it, and many are called to the faith. For although Peter was a minister of such great power, he does not keep people focused on himself, but rather directs them to Christ.
