SCRIPTURE

"And they shall know that I am Jehovah their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them: I am Jehovah their God." — Exodus 29:46 (ASV)

And they shall know that I am the Lord. In these words, God signifies that He has not only been the deliverer of His people on one occasion, but also that He intends to preside over their welfare and to demonstrate in a practical way that He dwells among them. Moreover, He appointed the sanctuary to be the symbol of His presence, and, as it were, a pledge of it; from which He intended the rule of piety to proceed and to be sought by His worshippers.
