John Calvin Commentary John 8:27

"They perceived not that he spake to them of the Father." — John 8:27 (ASV)

They did not know that he spoke to them about the Father. Therefore, we see how foolish those men are whose minds are possessed by Satan. Nothing could be clearer than that they were summoned to the judgment seat of God. But what then? They are completely blind. This happens daily to other enemies of the Gospel, and such blindness should teach us to walk with fear.
