John Calvin Commentary Matthew 10:31

"Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows." — Matthew 10:31 (ASV)

You are of more value. This is true in general of all people, for the sparrows were created for their advantage. But this discourse relates particularly to the sons of God, who possess a far higher right than what they derive from creation. Now the rank that belongs to people arises solely from the undeserved kindness of God.
