SCRIPTURE

"Thou art nigh, O Jehovah; And all thy commandments are truth." — Psalms 119:151 (ASV)

You, O Jehovah! are near. He encourages himself with the comforting thought that God, when He sees His own people severely pressed, comes forward at the right time to give them aid, just as Paul says on this subject:

Be not over-careful, the Lord is at hand, let your moderation be known to all men (Philippians 4:5).

The concluding sentence of the verse means that God never forsakes or disappoints His people in their time of need, because He is true to His promises. In them, He assures us that the welfare of His people will always be His concern.

Therefore, so that we may be fully convinced that the hand of God is always ready to repel the attacks of our enemies, let us hold firmly to the belief in the truth that He does not promise in vain in His word to be the guardian of our welfare.
