SCRIPTURE

"Jehovah upholdeth all that fall, And raiseth up all those that are bowed down." — Psalms 145:14 (ASV)

Jehovah upholding all the falling. He gives instances of the goodness and mercy of God that make it evident that God reigns only for the promotion of the general welfare of mankind. By the falling and those who are bowed down, he figuratively means those who are overwhelmed by adversity and would immediately sink if God did not extend His hand to support them. God, in short, is mindful of the troubles of people and helps those who are in distress, so that all should not only look upon His divine government with reverence but also willingly and cordially submit themselves to it. Another lesson taught us is that no one who seeks comfort from God in their affliction will be disappointed.
