"And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father." — 1 Chronicles 28:6 (ASV)

And he said unto me, Solomon that son, he shall build my house ,
&c.] See (2 Samuel 7:13)

and my courts ;
in the house or temple:

for I have chosen him to be my son ;
predestinated him to the adoption of children, (Ephesians 1:5)

and I will be his father ;
