SCRIPTURE

"And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for Jehovah the tax that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness." — 2 Chronicles 24:9 (ASV)

And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem
By heralds appointed for the purpose:

to bring in to the Lord ;
into the house of the Lord, and for the reparation of it; and so for his service, honour, and glory:

the collection that Moses the servant of the Lord laid upon Israel in
the wilderness ;
not to bring in the tabernacle of Moses, as the Targum here and in (2 Chronicles 24:6) , but such a voluntary gift as Moses moved the children of Israel to bring, when in the wilderness, for the service of the tabernacle.
