SCRIPTURE

"that thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be ashamed because of all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them." — Ezekiel 16:54 (ASV)

That you may bear your own shame. So long as the captivity remains; even until Sodom and Samaria, the Gentiles, and the ten tribes, are called and converted: and may be confounded in all that you have done; or, "for all that you have done" F5; for and because of all the abominable sins they had been guilty of.

In that you are a comfort to them; to Sodom and Samaria; countenancing them in their sins; justifying their iniquities, and strengthening their hands in their wickedness, by doing the same, and greater abominations; or in partaking of the same punishment with them, captivity; this being a kind of solace to them, that they were not punished alone; so Jarchi.
