John Gill Commentary

John Gill Commentary
"And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink." — Genesis 24:18 (ASV)
And she said, drink, my lord Signifying at once that he was welcome to drink what he would, giving him a very honourable title, observing that he had a pretty large retinue with him of men and camels; so that she took him for some considerable personage: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand ; from off her shoulder, and let it rest upon her hand or arm: and gave him drink ; let him drink what he would of it.
