"Now the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying," — Jeremiah 1:4 (ASV)

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying. Not in the days of Jehoiakim, but in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah, (Jeremiah 1:2). The Septuagint and Vulgate Latin versions read, "to him".
