"Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that have the corners [of their hair] cut off;" — Jeremiah 25:23 (ASV)
Dedan, and Tema, and Buz
These seem to be places in Edom or Idumea, whose destruction Jeremiah prophesies in (Jeremiah 49:7Jeremiah 49:8Jeremiah 49:20); or rather in Arabia and Mesopotamia. Jerome considers them among the Ishmaelites and Saracens. The persons they descended from are mentioned in (Genesis 22:21) (Genesis 25:8Genesis 25:15); and all [that are] in the utmost corners; that is, either of the above countries, or of the whole earth: or "all that had their hair shorn" {m}; or the corners of their beards; which Jerome says is applicable to the Saracens.
