John Gill Commentary Leviticus 13:23

"But if the bright spot stay in its place, and be not spread, it is the scar of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean." — Leviticus 13:23 (ASV)

But if the bright spot stay in his place, [and] spread not , &c.] Continues as it was when first viewed: it [is] a burning boil ; but not a plague of leprosy: and the priest shall pronounce him clean ; as clear of a leprosy, and so not bound by the law of it, though attended with an inflammation or burning ulcer.
