"And he presented the meal-offering, and filled his hand therefrom, and burnt it upon the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning." — Leviticus 9:17 (ASV)
And he brought the meat offering
Made of fine flour, with oil and frankincense put upon it, see (Leviticus 2:1) and took a handful thereof, and burnt [it] upon the altar ;
see (Leviticus 2:2Leviticus 2:3) beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning ;
the daily morning sacrifice, which was not to be omitted on account of these extraordinary sacrifices, both for the priest and for the people; or "after the burnt sacrifice of the morning"; for no sacrifice was offered up before that: so Jarchi.
