John Gill Commentary Luke 10:9

"and heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you." — Luke 10:9 (ASV)

And heal the sick that are therein
Of all their bodily diseases, which would not only show their power and warrant, their mission and commission, but also their goodness and beneficence to men; and would be a sufficient return for what they ate and drank:

and say to them
not only to the sick that are healed, and those in the house in which they were, but to all the inhabitants of the city;

the kingdom of God has come near to you
the Gospel dispensation, the kingdom of the Messiah, and even the Messiah himself, as might be concluded from the miracles they performed; and thus by their ministry and works, were they to go before Christ, and prepare his way.
