SCRIPTURE

"I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but [this is done] that the scriptures might be fulfilled." — Mark 14:49 (ASV)

I was daily with you in the temple
That is, for several days past; ever since he made his public entry into Jerusalem:

teaching ;
the people, in a public manner:

and ye took me not ;
did not attempt to lay hands on him, seize him, and carry him away; which he signifies might have been easily done; (See Gill on Matthew 26:55).

But the Scriptures must be fulfilled :
which spoke of the betraying him by Judas; and of their taking him in this private and secret manner; and of the flight of the disciples from him next mentioned; (See Gill on Matthew 26:56).
