John Gill Commentary Mark 15:34

"And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" — Mark 15:34 (ASV)

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice

saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani ?
in Matthew it is, "Eli, Eli", Both "Eli" and "Eloi", are Hebrew words, and signify the same; and are both used in (Psalms 22:1Psalms 22:2) , from which the whole is taken:
