John Gill Commentary

John Gill Commentary
"Pour out thine indignation upon them, And let the fierceness of thine anger overtake them." — Psalms 69:24 (ASV)
Pour out your indignation upon them Not a few drops of it only, but a flood of it, sweeping away and bearing down all before it; which was done when wrath came upon them to the uttermost, in the destruction of their city, temple, and nation, (1 Thessalonians 2:16) ;
let your wrathful anger take hold of them ; follow after them, overtake them, seize upon them, and hold them fast, that they may not escape. It denotes the severity of God towards them; the fierceness and fury of his wrath upon them; and that their destruction would be inevitable, and an entire and utter one.
