SCRIPTURE

"When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation." — Proverbs 10:25 (ASV)

This is caution to all, to beware of deceiving themselves concerning their souls.

Wicked children despise the authority of their father, and the tenderness of their mother.

Pride is the ruin of multitudes. But those who are in affliction God will support.

Care, fear, and sorrow, upon the spirits, deprive people of vigor for what must be done, or courage for what must be endured. A good word from God, applied by faith, makes the heart glad.

A gentle rebuke goes farthest with a man of understanding.

The course of prosperous sinners is like a whirlwind, which soon spends itself, and is gone.

The evasions people often use with their own consciences show how false and deceitful humankind is.

Those who live in continual dependence upon God and His grace, and live by faith, make themselves always at ease.

Many are ashamed to confess Christ now; and he will not confess them in the day of judgment. But he who trusts in the Lord will be saved from this snare.

Heaven is a country far away; how refreshing is good news from there, in the everlasting gospel, which signifies good news, and in the witness of the Spirit with our spirits that we are God's children!

Both in temporal and spiritual things, God commonly deals with his people according to the measure by which they deal with their fellow believers.

It is the misery of the wicked, that even their sensual appetites are always craving. The righteous feeds on the word and ordinances, to the satisfying of his soul with the promises of the gospel, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Bread of life.

An upright man will risk the displeasure of the most powerful, to bring truth to light.
