SCRIPTURE

"The hope of the righteous [shall be] gladness; But the expectation of the wicked shall perish." — Proverbs 10:28 (ASV)

The man who has no command over his anger is easily robbed of peace. Let us give ourselves up to the Lord, and pray to him to put his Spirit within us, and cause us to walk in his statutes.

Let all who wish well to the kingdom of Christ do what they can, so that many may be added to his church.

We are taught not to trespass on another man's right. And it is hard to find a truly industrious man. Such a man will rise.

Do you see a man diligent in the business of religion? He is likely to excel. Let us then be diligent in God's work.

The true believer is a branch of the living Vine. When those who take root in the world wither, those who are grafted into Christ shall be fruitful.

When power is put into the hands of the wicked, wise men decline public business. If the reader will go diligently over this and the other chapters, in many places where at first he may suppose there is least of Christ, he will still find what will lead to Him.

Mercy and truth are the glories of God's throne.

There are two sorts of lies equally detestable. A slandering lie, its mischief everybody sees. A flattering lie, which secretly causes ruin. A wise man will be more afraid of a flatterer than of a slanderer.

Those are the worst of sinners, who are glad of an opportunity to sin.

The way of religion is a straight, plain way; it is the way of righteousness. There is not only life at the end, but life in the way; all true comfort.

The doom of a false witness is certain.

A good man is proved to be a wise man by this; he governs his tongue well.
