Matthew Henry Commentary Proverbs 12:25

"Heaviness in the heart of a man maketh it stoop; But a good word maketh it glad." — Proverbs 12:25 (ASV)

Care, fear, and sorrow, upon the spirits, deprive people of vigor for what must be done, or courage for what must be endured. A good word from God, applied by faith, makes the heart glad.
