Matthew Henry Commentary

Matthew Henry Commentary
"Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous; Destroy not his resting-place: For a righteous man falleth seven times, and riseth up again; But the wicked are overthrown by calamity." — Proverbs 24:15-16 (ASV)
The sincere soul falls as a traveler may, by stumbling over some stone in his path, but gets up and goes on his way with more care and speed. This is to be understood as referring more to falls into affliction than to falls into actual sin.
