"For the shepherds are become brutish, and have not inquired of Jehovah: therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered." — Jeremiah 10:21 (ASV)

1. Here, he outlines the communal punishment in order, because the sins of the rulers are the cause of their blindness. Their wickedness has blinded them . And this is the cause of the destruction of the people. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit (Matthew 15:14). My sheep are scattered because there was no shepherd, and they have become prey for all the beasts of the field, and they are scattered (Ezekiel 34:5).
