When I thy glorious heavens behold, thy fingers work divine, The moon and stars which thou hast set in order as they shine;

O what is wretched man that thou shouldst have him in thy mind, And Adam's son, that thou shouldst be to visit him so kind?

Verse 5

For than the Angels thou hast him but little lower made; With glory and with majesty thou crowned hast his head.

Verse 6

To Him dominion Thou hast given over thy works below; Under his feet hast put them all, to him hast made them bow.

Verse 7

Both all the tamer flocks and herds, wild beasts that range more free,

Verse 8

Swift in the air the fowls that fly, and fishes of the sea.

Verse 9

Yea those that make great paths along the sea, and pass the same O LORD, our Lord, in all the earth, how excellent thy name!
