A Song of Degrees of David

Verse 1

I Joy'd in them that said to me, Let's at the Lord's house meet.

Verse 2

O thou Jerusalem within Thy gates shall stand our feet.

Verse 3

Jerusalem is builded up Into a city frame: Both beautiful and uniform, And compact is the same

Verse 4

Whither the tribes the tribes of Jah, To Isra'ls witness go; That they unto Jehovah's name Their thankfulness may show.

Verse 5

Because the thrones of judgment there Established therein: The thrones that do unto the house Of David appertain.

Verse 6

Pray for Jerusalem her peace, They prosper that love thee.

Verse 7

Peace in thy walls, thy palaces In them let safety be.

Verse 8

Both for my brethren and my friends, Peace be in thee say I.

Verse 9

I'll for our God Jehovah's house Seek thy prosperity.
