Verse 1
Christian, so weary and faint on the road, Seeking thy blessed Redeemer’s abode, Darkness around thee and heavy thy load, Afterward, afterward, list to the word.

Verse 2
Courage, then, Christian, and still pressing on, Keep to the pathway though daylight be gone; Soon o’er the mountain shall burst the glad sun, Afterward, afterward, cometh the dawn.
