Blessed Jesus, God the Word, Sinner’s Saviour, Friend and Lord, With my sinful heart distressed, Lo, I come to Thee for rest.

Lend, O Lord, a list’ning ear, Drive away my doubt and fear; At Thy feet I lay my plea: Thou, O Christ, didst die for me.

Take away my guilt and shame, On my heart inscribe Thy name; Like Thy nature make my own, Let Thy blood for me atone.
