Burden of Guilt

Benjamin Beddome (1787) • English

Lord, with a griev'd and aching heart, To thee I look— to thee I cry; Supply my wants, and ease my smart, O help me soon, or else I die.

Here on my soul the burden lies, No human power can it remove; My numerous sins like mountains rise, Do thou reveal thy pardoning love.
