Hitherto

Verse 1

Hitherto the Lord has helped me, Hitherto; All the way His hand has led me Safely through; He the victory has given, Still the same, When the battle seemed the fiercest; Praise His name.

Verse 2

When the days were overshadowed, Like the night, Then to me there came a vision, All was light; And that light will shine more clearly From above; Still His banner will be o’er me, Which is love.
