I Have Tarried

I have tarried for the power of the Holy Ghost, I’ve received Him and He saves me to the uttermost; I surrendered at the cross, counting all for Jesus loss, And I’m happy on my Heav’nly way.

I have tarried for the power of the life of love, For the overcoming faith that’s given from above; God has given it to me, and from sin my heart is free, As I journey on my Heav’nly way.

I have tarried for the power as the Lord did say, And this power doth renew me ev’ry passing day, I am out and out for Him, who thro’ death did me redeem, And I’m happy on my Heav’nly way.
