Primary Scripture: Psalm 11

Verse 1

I in Jehovah place my trust: why therefore say do ye To my poor soul, "like frighted birds to your high mountain flee."

Verse 2

For lo, the wicked bend their bows, and on the string prepare, Their arrows in the dark to shoot at those who upright are.

Verse 3

But if the great foundations of our state they overthrow; [Which are thy sacred laws and truths;] what shall the righteous do?

Verse 4

Jehovah's in his holy place,* and in the heavens on high Jehovah's throne: his eyes observe, men's sons his eye-lids try.

Verse 5

The men who truly righteous are Jehovah does approve: His soul the wicked hates, and them who violence do love.

Verse 6

Snares, fire and brimstone, dreadful storms, on sinners He will rain: This is the portion of the cup He does for them ordain.

Verse 7

Because the Lord, who righteous is, all righteousness does love; His countenance the upright one, beholding does approve.
