Imperfection of Nature, and Perfection of Scripture

Verse 1

If faithless writers spend long hours to shape one perfect book, great God, if once compared to yours, how pointless theirs would look!

Verse 2

Not any perfect rules they gave could show one sin forgiven, nor lead a step beyond the grave, but yours conduct to heaven!

Verse 3

Our faith, our love, and every grace, fall far below your word, for perfect truth and righteousness dwell only with the Lord.
